AJC Year in Review

Glad to have made the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s “Year in Review: Key Events in the Arts” for “the beautiful interplay of light and dark elements” in the ASO’s premiere of ‘…of shadow and light… (incantations for orchestra)! Kudos also to fellow Atlanta composer, Michael Kurth.

Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra

Really looking forward to our opening performance next week – 150 of the metro area’s finest young musicians in one of the region’s premier performance spaces. A great combination! See www.emoryyouthsymphony.org or find us on FB at https://www.facebook.com/groups/2216033294/

New repertoire commencing for EUSO (Brahms 3 etc.), EYSO concert looming with Borodin and Shostakovich and off into the second quartet we go for the Vega String Quartet! Never a dull moment, to be sure.

Glass & Haimovitz!

A triumph for the Emory University Symphony Orchestra! Great reception of the Glass and lovely performances of the Copland, Barber and Hanson for a capacity audience. Thanks again, Philip Glass and Matt Haimovitz for making this such a wonderful couple of weeks for the orchestra, composition students and me.

Symphony No. 3

In advance of 2014-2015 performances of my Symphony No. 3, I am posting excerpts from the 2011 premiere given by the Emory University Symphony Orchestra. Making some minor revisions here and there and REALLY looking forward to certain orchestras releasing their 14-15 seasons!
